In April 2022 Jules Focke and I exhibited our master thesis ‘Weg-Dromen, een zoektocht naar typologie tijdens een stop aan het tankstation’ (Petrol Places, searching for typology during a pit stop at the gas station) in a Gabriëls gas station. Although the store was abandoned at that point, the pumps were still operating and frequently used during the exhibition. This provided a perfectly peculiar setting for us to exhibit our study on the remarkable typology (and mythology) of the gas station.
